Fun with maps

We're suffering a wet Spring here in our corner of Spain and too much time indoors, means too much time online...

Which is how I found one of the better mapping sites I've seen. The WorldMapper site has dozens of maps covering any number of global statistics.

Ten minutes browsing them is a quick reminder of how the challenges we face before we can really call ourselves 'civilized'...the northern hemisphere seems to have a talent for being bloated by over-consumption of all types.

The map above shows Iraq war demonstrations...obviously those 'cheese-eating' Europeans had nothing better to do than take to the streets that year, though it looks like Australian's ate more than their share of cheese too...
